Gallego Statement on GENIUS Act

WASHINGTON – Today, Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Digital Assets, voted in support of the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act when it passed out of the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.  “It’s clear that digital assets are here to stay. Senators Gallego, Cassidy Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Protect Seniors from Unfair Social Security Claw-Backs

WASHINGTON – Today, Senators Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA) introduced the bipartisan Social Security Overpayment Relief Act to limit the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) overpayment lookback period to ten years. Senators Gallego, Banks Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Promote Fairness in Veterans’ Education

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Senators Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and Jim Banks (R-IN) — both combat veterans — introduced the bipartisan Fairness in Veterans’ Education Act. The bill ensures 25,000 service members who paid $1,200 into the Montgomery G.I. Bill get refunded, removing the rule tying reimbursement to a final housing payment. Rep. Ronny Jackson (TX-13) is leading the companion bill in the House.  “For too long, veterans who paid into the GI Bill have been shortchanged and left without the benefits they earned. This bill helps right that wrong and gives our servicemembers the opportunities they deserve. Every veteran deserves full access to the education and training they were promised,” said Senator Gallego.
