The U.S. Capitol Building
Tours of the U.S. Capitol Building are offered Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:20 p.m., and last about an hour. The tour is fully accessible for visitors with disabilities.
Due to high demand, we recommend requesting tickets at least one month in advance. Please note that tours are subject to change or cancellation based on the events and official business in the Capitol Building.
If you’d like to watch the Senate in session, our office can also provide Senate Gallery Passes. The gallery opens 30 minutes before the Senate convenes and closes when the Senate adjourns or recesses for the day. During longer recesses of one week or more, the gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, and visitors are welcome to stay until 4:30 p.m.
The White House
Tours are available from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, excluding Federal holidays or unless otherwise noted. These tours are self-guided and last about an hour. The tour is fully accessible to people with disabilities.
White House tours are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and spots fill quickly – so please submit your request as early as possible.
Tour requests can be submitted up to three months in advance and no later than 21 days before your visit. Please note that each request can include up to 50 attendees, and tours are subject to change or cancellation based on the White House’s schedule.
Note: Beginning May 7, 2025, all visitors must present a valid government-issued REAL ID or passport to enter the White House complex, in accordance with Department of Homeland Security guidance. For more details, visit the White House Tours Frequently Asked Questions page.
