Flag Requests
Senator Gallego can help you arrange to have an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to commemorate a special occasion, like a birthday, wedding, anniversary, or retirement. You can also purchase a flag that has already been flown over the Capitol. Multiple flag sizes are available in nylon and cotton. Please place orders at least six weeks in advance to help secure a particular date.
All flags are made in the USA and come with a certificate of authenticity from the Architect of the Capitol. Flags flown for a specific date or occasion will also include a custom certificate noting the date and purpose.
Orders can be made directly to Senator Gallego’s pay.gov website. This is a payment process that is run by the U.S. Treasury Department. On the website, you may select the type of flag you wish to purchase using credit card, debit card, PayPal, or ACH (Bank Account). Prices vary depending on flag type and size.

Caring for your flag
Most outdoor flags can be washed in mild detergent and thoroughly rinsed. Indoor and parade flags should be dry-cleaned. Damaged flags can be repaired and used as long as the overall dimensions are not noticeably altered. American Legion Posts and local governments often have facilities to dispose of unserviceable flags. Store your flag in a clean, well-ventilated area.
